As part of its continuing commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector, the Local Government Unit of Buenavista, through the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), has begun the distribution of free fertilizer to farmers in the following barangays:
- Cambuhat
- Merryland
- Buga-ong
- Magkaya
- Panghagban
- Catigbian
- Nueva Granada
This initiative follows the municipality’s successful distribution of free seeds and forms part of the LGU’s ongoing efforts to enhance agricultural productivity and improve the livelihood of local farmers.
The municipality extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office VII (DA RFO VII) for providing 947 sacks of 14-14-14 Complete Fertilizer, a significant assistance that will help farmers increase crop productivity and reduce production costs.
Special recognition is also given to the Municipal Agriculture Office for ensuring the orderly and equitable distribution of the fertilizer to qualified farmer-beneficiaries across the municipality.
The free fertilizer distribution is one of the key components of Buenavista’s Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture Program, which aims to empower farmers, promote increased agricultural production, and ensure a stable food supply for the community. Through this program, the LGU continues to encourage more Buenavistahanons to engage in farming, enhance local food production, and contribute to the economic well-being of their families.
